Is it true that the Prophet (peace be upon him) commanded a woman who had vowed to commit adultery if something she desired came to pass, to instead pass by a group of men and raise her garment slightly above her ankle, in lieu of committing adultery?

Fulfilling a vow that involves disobedience is forbidden, based on the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) sayings: "Whoever vows to disobey Allah, let him not disobey Him," and "There is no fulfillment of a vow that involves disobedience." The one who made such a vow must only repent. This is the view of Shafi'i, Malik, and the majority of scholars, while Abu Hanifa holds that an expiation for a broken oath (kaffarat yamin (definition)) is required.
