The answer

Most scholars agree on prohibiting a pilgrim in ihram from removing his hair by shaving, shortening, or plucking, whether it is head hair or any other body hair. They cite as evidence the Almighty's saying: (And do not shave your heads until the sacrificial animal reaches its destination), and the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Shave your head, and fast three days, or feed six poor people, or offer a sacrifice (slaughter a sheep)." Whoever does so must offer a fidyah (expiation). Furthermore, growing the beard is obligatory, and shaving it is prohibited, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Trim the mustache and let the beard grow."
