Is it permissible for a girl whose family prevented her from marrying before she completes her religious studies to marry a religious young man whom she agreed to after performing Istikhara, despite her family's rejection of him out of fear of losing her and their unwillingness to bear the responsibility of her choice?

A father is not permitted to prevent his daughter from marrying someone she desires if he is of good character and religious commitment. Delaying marriage for the sake of completing studies is not an excuse; rather, marriage takes precedence. As for the young man mentioned, congregational prayer is obligatory, and listening to music accompanied by instruments is forbidden. If he repents from this, there is no harm in marrying him. If the father insists on refusing, he is considered an adil (one who unjustly withholds his ward from marriage), and his guardianship is forfeited, making it permissible to refer the matter to the judiciary. Communication between the girl and the young man is permissible out of necessity, as long as it does not involve khalwa (definition) (private seclusion) or softening of speech.
