The question

Is it permissible to continue paying a monthly fee for an internet subscription with a group of young men, some of whom use the internet for purposes that do not please Allah? And is it permissible to resort to a stratagem by not making direct financial payment to the group, and instead buying tea or sugar for the value of the due amount?

The answer

"It does not appear that paying a subscription for home internet connection is forbidden, even if colleagues use it for sin, because the subscriber is not responsible for what his colleagues do; they pay for their own benefit. The obligation to forbid evil is dropped if there is no strong presumption that the evil will cease by forbidding it. However, it is preferable and better for anyone who seeks caution and piety to avoid sharing with his colleagues. As for purchasing items, it is no different from paying a sum of money, as the buyer acts as an agent for the rest of the partners."
