Does a person become an infidel if they are plagued by thoughts of disbelief, whether intentional or unintentional, or if their heart is gladdened by them, and how can one reconcile the sayings of Ibn Hazm and Sheikh Abu Ishaq with the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him: "Indeed, Allah has pardoned for my nation what they inwardlyOSU-ed themselves with, as long as they do not speak of it or act upon it"?

We advise you to shun the whispers of Satan and strive against them, and to seek refuge in Allah from them, for they are among Satan's plots to turn you away from the truth. Turn to Allah and strive in worship, and know that these whispers do not harm you as long as you dislike them, and your dislike for them is a sign of the sincerity of your faith. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, informed us that disliking whispers is pure faith. Whispers do not harm their owner if he dislikes them, and it is from Allah's mercy to His servants that He overlooks what their hearts conceive, as long as they do not act upon it or speak of it.
