What is the ruling on writing on a tablet that has residual traces of Quranic verses that were previously written and then erased?

There is no harm in erasing Quranic verses if the purpose of writing them has been fulfilled, or for writing other verses in their place. They should be erased completely so that no trace of them remains. If a trace does remain, there is no religious prohibition in writing on the tablet.
