There is no objection to accepting a mother's help in preparing her daughter if the money is lawful. As for eating and drinking from the father's money, if his lawful money is mixed with unlawful money due to usurious interest, then it is permissible to take from it, though it is disliked (makruh), and the daughter is not permitted to refuse her father's invitation. However, if she is certain that what he offers is entirely unlawful, then she is not obligated to obey him. The father is advised to be wise and gentle, and to be counseled to abstain from usury. If wisdom dictates, one may take what he offers and give it as charity to a poor person or spend it on a public project for Muslims.
