The question

The answer

Many scholars are of the view that it was a unique characteristic of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he was permitted to be alone with women from his community, to look at them, and to have them ride behind him on a mount; this was due to his infallibility, peace and blessings be upon him. This is the view preferred by Al-Bujairimi and Ibn Hajar. However, some scholars disagreed with this, holding that in this regard, he was like other men.
