What is the ruling on using a television and a radio in a room connected to the mosque after the worshippers have left?
Television brings many harms, such as spreading indecency and disbelief, and wasting time. However, it also presents beneficial programs. Its acquisition and use are permissible for those who control it, such that they only use it for what is beneficial, do not waste their time, and are not extravagant. It is forbidden for those who do not adhere to these conditions.
As for its use in a room connected to the mosque, it is permissible under the aforementioned conditions, with the additional requirement of not disturbing those praying, even outside of prayer times, because the mosque was built for prayer, and disturbance within it is prohibited. The same applies to radio, but its harm is less.
