Is it permissible to seek forgiveness, glorify God, recite the Qur’an, and [recite] Surahs Al-Ikhlas and Al-Mu'awwidhatayn while watching television programs that sometimes broadcast songs?

Watching television, if it involves forbidden acts, necessitates immediate and sincere repentance. Seeking forgiveness while persisting in sin is a great danger. Reciting the Qur'an requires contemplation and reverence, and part of honoring the Book of Allah is not to read it while watching television, as Allah Almighty says: "And whoever honors the sacred rites of Allah, it is better for him in the sight of his Lord."
