Belief in divine decree (Qadar), both its good and its evil, is one of the pillars of faith. This has been indicated by texts from the Qur'an and the Sunnah, such as His (Allah's) saying, "Indeed, We created all things in due measure," and the famous Hadith of Jibril. The stages of belief in divine decree are four: knowledge, writing, will, and creation and formation.
