What is the ruling on one who utters a word of disbelief – whether Arabic or non-Arabic – without knowing its meaning or without recalling its meaning at the time of utterance, or who mocks a word that he later realizes is from the religion?

Whoever utters a word without knowing its meaning is not held accountable and does not disbelieve by it, even if the word itself is an act of disbelief. One who utters a word of disbelief without knowing its meaning, or if it slips from their tongue unintentionally, does not disbelieve, due to the hadith (definition): "My nation has been forgiven for their mistakes and forgetfulness." And whoever says what they said while being heedless and unaware of the meaning of what they spoke, meaning they spoke without intending it, this falls under the forgiven mistake.
