The answer

A Muslim's endeavor to increase his wealth for his own benefit and that of his family is permissible, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Be keen on what benefits you, seek help from Allah, and do not be helpless." This does not mean dissatisfaction with divine decree. The greatest ways to seek provision are righteous deeds such as piety, prayer, charity, maintaining kinship ties, seeking forgiveness, and supplication, in addition to permissible means.
