If this pronouncement does not complete the three divorces, he may take his wife back during her iddah (waiting period). However, if he intended the divorce to occur if she left, and did not intend an immediate divorce, the preponderant view is that her divorce does not religiously occur if she does not leave, because he made the divorce conditional upon a condition that was not fulfilled.
