It is not permissible for the mother to obey her father in his request for her to divorce her husband, as this is not obedience in what is right. A woman is not obligated to obey her parents in separating from her husband, and her husband has more right over her than her parents, and obedience to him is more incumbent. She must be good to her father and take care of him to the best of her ability, for his right is great.
