What is the ruling on intentionally disbelieving in jinn to avoid obsessive thoughts and fear, and is belief in them obligatory like belief in angels?

Belief in the existence of jinn is obligatory, and it is part of affirming the texts of the two revelations (Qur'an and Sunnah (definition)). It has been established by the Qur'an and Sunnah. Some people deny it, even though such denial is disbelief (kufr). To overcome fear of them, one must possess courage, trust in Allah, and rely upon Him. One should dispel illusions of fear, supplicate to Allah, seek refuge in Him from cowardice, adhere to obedience, and frequently engage in the remembrance of Allah. The remembrance of Allah is a safeguard against Satan. However, belief in jinn does not reach the same degree as belief in angels.
