The question

Does a divorce occur by the husband saying, "Pack your things and go to your parents' house," with the wife refusing to go, then the husband asking her to apologize to his mother or go to her parents' house, then her father taking her before the husband asks her to stay? And does a divorce occur by saying "the free or explicit divorce" when the husband releases his wife from his hand after caressing her, intending his release and not her divorce?

The answer

If you did not intend divorce by saying to your wife: "Go to your family's house," then no divorce occurs because it is an ambiguous phrase (kinayah). And your saying: "the free or explicit divorce," intending her departure, does not constitute a divorce between you and Allah. If you know this to be true about yourself, then it does not affect you, and it is advisable to disregard obsessive thoughts.
