Is it permissible to abort a fetus conceived through adultery, aged between 6 and 7 weeks, and what is the ruling on marrying a righteous person after falling into adultery and becoming pregnant?

Scholars have differed on the ruling regarding abortion. The Hanafis, Shafi'is, and some Hanbalis have permitted it before the ensoulment, which is after one hundred and twenty days. Some Hanbalis and Malikis permitted abortion before forty days. The Malikis and a view held by some Hanafis, Shafi'is, and Hanbalis have ruled against its permissibility absolutely.

The legal fatwa (religious edict) tends towards absolute impermissibility because abortion entails corruption of offspring and opens the door to immorality. Consequently, abortion is not permissible, even if the pregnancy is in the seventh week, before it, or after it.

Whoever commits adultery must repent, feel remorse, and seek forgiveness. They must keep the fetus and raise it properly. One may adopt the view of those who permit abortion before ensoulment if there is extreme hardship, especially since some Malikis and Shafi'is have permitted abortion if it resulted from adultery and the woman feared for herself.

The marriage is valid, and what happened does not affect its validity.
