The answer

The expiation for an oath is feeding ten needy persons, or clothing them, or freeing a slave. If one is unable to do any of these, then he fasts for three days. If the saved money is sufficient to cover the necessary expiations, whether by feeding, clothing, or freeing a slave, then it is obligatory to pay them, and fasting is not sufficient. If the money is not enough, then she may expiate for the remainder by fasting. Fasting intermittently is permissible, though consecutively is better.
