Is abortion permissible in the seventh month if medical examination reveals that the fetus has a disability from which recovery is not expected?

Abortion is forbidden in Islamic law because it is an assault on a soul created by Allah. Its prohibition becomes even stricter after the ensoulment, as it then constitutes killing a soul. Abortion is not permissible, whether the fetus is malformed or otherwise, except in one case: if a reliable medical report confirms that the mother's life is in grave danger should the abortion not be performed.
