Is it permissible for a wife to give charity from her husband's money that he allocates to her and their daughters, without his knowledge and consent?

It is permissible for a woman to give charity from her husband's money if he gives her permission to do so, whether this permission is verbal or customary. In this case, she receives a reward for the charity, and her husband does as well.

However, if the husband forbids her or if she knows he would not approve, she is not permitted to give charity from his money. The evidence for the permissibility of a woman giving charity with her husband's permission, or with a small customary amount, is the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whatever a woman spends from her husband's house, without causing damage, she will have her reward, and he will have a similar reward for what he earned, and she for what she spent, and the treasurer will have the same, without anything diminishing from their rewards." And his saying to Asma: "Spend whatever you can afford."

As for the impermissibility without his permission, it is due to the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "A woman should not spend anything from her house except with her husband's permission." The basic principle is that a woman is not allowed to give charity from her husband's money without his permission, except for a small amount that is customary, such as giving to neighbors or beggars something small that does not harm the husband.
