What is the ruling on the brownish discharge that appears immediately after seeing the clear fluid indicating purification from menstruation, and is this brownish discharge considered menstruation, necessitating not performing ghusl, especially if it occurs within the usual period?

Purity is indicated by one of two signs: complete dryness, such that the cotton swab emerges untainted by blood, brown discharge (kudrah), or yellowish discharge (sufrah); or by seeing the white discharge (al-qassah al-bayda’). One must perform ghusl (definition) immediately upon seeing either of these two signs. Yellowish and brown discharge after purity are considered menses if they occur during the usual period or are continuous with blood. They are not menses if they occur outside the usual period and are separate from blood. The habitual period, according to the Hanbalis, is established by three repetitions, while others are of the view that it is established by one instance.
