What is the purpose of the Holy Qur'an, and what are the morals a Muslim should embody when reciting it?

The purpose of revealing the Holy Quran is to guide people and bring them out of the darkness of polytheism and sins into the light of monotheism and obedience, in order to achieve happiness in this world and the hereafter, and so that servants may ponder, take heed, remember, and prepare for the Day of Judgment. When reading the Quran from the Mushaf (definition), one must perform ablution to touch the Mushaf, out of reverence and glorification for the Book of Allah.
