Are the verses of the hijab specific to the women of Medina only, or to a certain time, or to the presence of harm, or are they general for every time and place?

Allah Almighty commanded women to observe hijab (definition) in Surahs Al-Ahzab and An-Nur, and Muslim women complied with this command. The reason for the revelation of the verse in Al-Ahzab was to distinguish free women from slave women, to prevent evildoers from harassing them. However, the ruling of hijab does not cease with the cessation of its cause; rather, the lesson is in the generality of the wording, not the specificity of the cause. The evidence for the obligation of hijab is abundant from the Quran, the Sunnah (definition), and the consensus of scholars. Moreover, the practice of Muslims throughout the ages has consistently shown women adhering to complete hijab, which confirms that it is a firm religious obligation that cannot be abrogated or altered.
