Is the questioner considered dutiful to his parents, and what is incumbent upon him to do for them? Is serving parents obligatory for married sisters, or only for male children? What is the ruling on sisters boycotting their brothers on the pretext of their wives' negligence in serving their parents?

Filial piety is a great virtue, and Allah Almighty has made it second only to His worship. So strive to be dutiful to them and seize the opportunity of their lives to earn reward, and do not consider what you spend of money or time to be excessive.

You should encourage your wife to care for your parents and fulfill their needs, and explain to her that this act carries immense reward. You should also honor her if she does so.

Serving parents is obligatory upon children, both males and females, if they are in need of service, either by yourselves or by hiring someone to do it.

You must advise your sisters and explain to them that cursing your wives is impermissible, and that serving your parents is obligatory upon them and not upon your wives. Indeed, wives of sons serving them is a voluntary act and not obligatory upon them; rather, it is obligatory upon the children, both males and females.
