The answer

Islam does not permit a woman to marry more than one man because that leads to the corruption of lineage, the occurrence of disputes among spouses, and the spread of discord. Divine wisdom is manifested in prohibiting this. Furthermore, man has been given greater strength and desire than woman, and has been charged with greater burdens and responsibilities, such as providing for the family and engaging in jihad. Therefore, polygyny is permissible for him but not for a woman, and this is from the perfection of Allah's justice and wisdom.
