All praise is due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family, and his companions. Among the most important history books are: Al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah, Al-Kamil fi al-Tarikh, Tarikh al-Islam, Tarikh Ibn Khaldun, Shadharat al-Dhahab, and Tarikh al-'Alam al-Islami. Among contemporary authors, there are those who have written on the Sirah (Prophet's biography), the history of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, the Umayyad and Abbasid dynasties, and other Islamic states. These books are beneficial and are recommended for study. And Allah knows best.
