Will parents be rewarded for their children memorizing the Quran, even if the children do not continue to do so after reaching the age of religious accountability?

Parents are rewarded for teaching their children the Quran, whether their children retain it or not, and whether the children turn out righteous or not. However, if parents do not teach their children the Quran, they are not rewarded for their children's memorization unless the children continue to preserve and act upon it until they die, as indicated by the hadith (definition): "Indeed, the Quran will meet its companion on the Day of Resurrection... and his parents will be clothed with two garments that the world and all it contains cannot equal. They will say: 'For what have we been clothed with these?' It will be said: 'Because your child took (memorized) the Quran.'"
