Is there any doubt concerning money earned from an internet shop?

It is permissible to open an internet café if it can be controlled and forbidden acts can be prevented, and the profit derived from it is lawful. However, if it cannot be controlled and its patrons use it for what Allah has forbidden, then it is not permissible to open it, and the profit derived from it is unlawful. In such a case, the owner must convert the shop to another project from which he can earn lawful profit. The Permanent Committee for Issuing Fatwas was asked about internet cafés and replied that if these devices enable the user to access reprehensible and false matters that harm the creed, or enable viewing obscene images and films, or suspicious chats, or forbidden games, and the owner of the shop cannot prevent these reprehensible acts or control the devices, then it is forbidden to trade in them, because that is assisting in sin. Allah Almighty says: (And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.) Al-Ma'idah/2.
