What is the ruling on participation in sin when helping a friend with an abortion, and what expiation results from that?

Assisting in abortion is considered aiding in sin, which is forbidden, based on the words of Allah Almighty: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty." The prohibition is further emphasized after the ensoulment. Covering a Muslim's faults is required, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever covers a Muslim's fault, Allah will cover his fault in this world and the Hereafter." Therefore, one must repent to Allah and help the friend towards piety, offer advice and repentance, and explain the gravity of fornication and the reasons to avoid it.
