The answer

For a woman who committed adultery, there is an accepted repentance with Allah. Repentance is achieved by feeling remorse, resolving never to return to the sin, and immediately abandoning fornication. She must conceal her sin and not inform anyone. A woman who committed adultery can marry after her repentance and the completion of her iddah (waiting period), whether it is the man she committed adultery with or another person, as long as there are no impediments to marriage. The iddah of a woman who committed adultery is, according to the more preponderant opinion, the same as that of a divorced woman.
