The answer

The debt of the deceased is paid from their estate after their preparation, then the remainder is divided among the heirs. If the heirs or donors bear the debt, and the creditor agrees, the deceased's obligation is absolved, even if the payment is delayed. The principle is that the debt is borne by the deceased from their own money, and no one else is obligated unless they volunteer, which is a good deed for which they will be rewarded, as Allah Almighty says: "And no soul earns but against itself, and no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another." So, if you bear the debt of your brother, or someone else bears it, and the creditors agree, then his obligation is absolved.
