What is the ruling on buying and selling cats?
The majority of scholars are of the opinion that selling cats is permissible, while some (the Dhaahiriyyah and one narration from Imam Ahmad) consider it prohibited. Ibn al-Mundhir also reported this view from Abu Hurayrah. The preponderant opinion is that its sale is permissible.
