Does the husband inherit from the estate of his deceased wife who passed away and left him with children from her, and he has children from another wife?

The husband inherits a fourth (25%) of his deceased wife's estate, as an obligatory share, if she has children, based on the Almighty's saying: {But if they have a child, then for you is a fourth of what they left.} Detailing the remainder of the inheritance depends on knowing the other heirs and the gender of the children. We emphasize that inheritance matters are serious and complex and should not be limited to a mere fatwa (definition). Rather, they must be brought before Islamic courts for investigation, to inventory the heirs, wills, debts, and other rights before dividing the estate.
