The answer

The name "Al-Sayyid" (The Master) is one of Allah's Beautiful Names, and it has been authentically established in the Prophet's . It is permissible to supplicate with it, based on Allah's saying: (And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them) [Quran 7:180]. Some scholars, such as Imam Malik, disliked supplicating with "Ya Sayyidi" (O my Master) because it was not established with him that it is one of Allah's Beautiful Names, and perhaps the that proves this did not reach him.
