Will divorce occur if the wife goes to work after the husband swore an oath of divorce saying, "By divorce, you will not go to work... and you will not go until I tell you to go," especially since he was angry and neither of them wants a divorce?

Anger does not prevent the occurrence of divorce as long as the husband is aware of what he is saying. The preponderant opinion among us is that swearing by divorce causes it to occur upon breaking the oath, contrary to Ibn Taymiyyah, who considers it an expiation for an oath if divorce was not intended.

So, if you go to work without your husband's permission, divorce will occur. If this is the first or second divorce, he can take you back before the 'iddah (waiting period) expires. The determinant in specifying the duration of the oath is the husband's intention. To avoid divorce, you can take unpaid leave for the duration intended by the husband. However, according to Ibn Taymiyyah's view, if the husband did not intend to cause a divorce, he is obliged to offer expiation for an oath, and divorce does not occur.
