Is a pilgrim excused if he relies on the testimony of others regarding the number of circuits of Sa'y due to exhaustion and not remembering the count?

If one doubts the number of circuits (ashwat) during Tawaf or Sa'i, there are two situations:

1. If the doubt is equally balanced between two possibilities, with no preference for either, then one should base their action on certainty, which is the lesser number.

2. If one of the two possibilities (the lesser or the greater) becomes more probable to them, then they may act according to what is more probable, based on the permissibility of acting upon preponderant opinion (ghalabat al-dhann) in acts of worship.

The statements of those around him might also help in preferring one of the possibilities. If one of them becomes preponderant based on this, he should act accordingly.

If one doubts after completing the Tawaf and departing, then the doubt has no effect unless the matter becomes certain.
