The answer

Undertaking a vow is disliked (makrooh), but it is obligatory to fulfill it. If one vows to fast consecutive months, this becomes incumbent upon him, and if he breaks his fast for one day, he must restart. If he intended to fast the number of days without consecutiveness, or if he did not intend anything, he must complete the number of days even if they are not consecutive. If he is unable to fulfill his vow, its expiation is the expiation for breaking an oath.
