The answer

The slaughtered animals of the People of the Book are permissible unless they are slaughtered for other than Allah or in an unlawful manner, such as by electric shock. What is impermissible for a Muslim to consume, such as alcohol and pork, remains forbidden. If a Muslim has doubts about the food of the People of the Book, he should inquire about its contents. Eating in a restaurant that serves pork is disliked (makrooh), and it must be avoided if those in charge do not separate the utensils used for permissible and forbidden meats, or do not clean them thoroughly after using them for forbidden meats.
