Is it permissible to lighten the skin if doing so causes others to reject and not accept a girl?

Skin lightening is permissible if done through temporary means and non-harmful creams. Facial peeling is a matter of scholarly disagreement, but the opinion allowing it is considerable. What the questioner perceives as ugliness is an illusion caused by her not accepting herself, for Allah created humankind in the best of forms and perfected everything He created. One should be content with Allah's decree and portion, and look at those who are less fortunate in appearance and form to appreciate Allah's blessings, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When one of you looks at someone who has been favored over him in wealth and creation, let him look at someone who is beneath him."
