Is it permissible for a woman to travel without a mahram to visit her family, given the strained family relations and her fear of taking concessions and being held accountable by Allah, knowing that she wishes to follow the opinion of the majority who forbid a woman from traveling without a mahram?

There are statements from scholars that permit a woman to travel safely without a mahram (definition), and acting upon this opinion is permissible, especially if the father commands it. A mufti (definition) may give the inquirer a choice between different opinions. Adopting the easier opinion in some matters is not considered blameworthy pursuit of concessions (tatabbu‘ al-rukhas), for blameworthy pursuit of concessions is always adopting the easier opinion every time, or adopting the easiest opinion from every madhhab (definition).
