What is the ruling concerning a woman whose husband died and whose 'iddah expired ten years ago?

The 'iddah (waiting period) for a woman whose husband has died is four months and ten days, unless she is pregnant, in which case her 'iddah ends upon delivery. If she did not observe the prescribed period, she has disobeyed Allah's command, and she must repent and strive in acts of obedience. She is not required to observe the 'iddah again as a make-up.
