Is it permissible to wipe over the socks by re-washing the feet at every dawn, then wiping over them for the rest of the day, and removing the socks at bedtime?

Wiping over the socks is valid if the conditions for wiping are met, and it is not a requirement to complete the wiping period for it to be valid. Scholars have differed regarding the preference between wiping and washing the feet; the majority of scholars are of the opinion that washing the feet is better, while Imam Ahmad held that wiping is better, and each group presented their evidence.
