Is it permissible to be content with reciting Surat Al-Ikhlas three times and entirely abandon the recitation of the Holy Quran, based on the understanding that reciting it is equivalent to the reward of reciting the entire Quran?

Counseling oneself with the Book of Allah involves reciting it, pondering its verses, taking heed of its admonitions, and adhering to its limits by fulfilling its commands and avoiding its prohibitions. Contenting oneself with reciting only Surah Al-Ikhlas is inconsistent with counseling oneself with the Book of Allah, nor does it achieve reward and recompense, increase in faith, knowledge of rulings, adornment with the etiquette of the Qur'an, or embodiment of its morals. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, did not restrict himself to reciting Surah Al-Ikhlas; rather, he regularly recited the entire Book of Allah, and he is the one who said: "Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have a good example."
