Marriage has conditions for its validity, the most important of which are: the guardian (wali) and witnesses. If a woman does not have a Muslim guardian, she may appoint a trustworthy man to be her guardian. If these conditions are met, the contract is religiously valid. However, it is not advisable, as it contravenes the prohibition decision and exposes the person to accountability, in addition to the fact that lack of documentation may lead to the loss of rights and stir up disputes. Therefore, scholars have emphasized the documentation of rights and the prevention of disputes.
