Is the waiting period (iddah) obligatory for a woman whose husband divorced her twice and did not have intercourse with her after the first divorce, which occurred ten months ago, nor after the second divorce, which occurred six months after the first divorce?

The divorcer has the right to take back his wife as long as her waiting period (iddah) has not expired, as stated in the Holy Quran. Accordingly, the wife returned to her husband's marital bond due to the reconciliation (irja') that occurred before the end of the iddah. The period mentioned in the question does not end the iddah for a non-pregnant woman. As for a pregnant woman, her iddah ends upon giving birth. The iddah is obligatory for a divorced woman even if intimacy did not occur after the divorce, because the iddah becomes obligatory immediately upon the occurrence of divorce.
