Does a female painter sin by drawing people and animals, and what are the boundaries of drawing in Islam?

It is not permissible to keep drawings of people and animate beings, due to the evidence prohibiting it. Among this evidence is that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, tore down a curtain that had a picture on it and said: "Indeed, the house in which there are pictures, the angels do not enter it." He also commanded Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, not to leave any picture without effacing it.
