How is the zakat on money calculated if the nisab changes during the hawl (year), or if the saved amount is spent two weeks before the end of the hawl?

Regarding Zakat on money, it becomes due after a full Hijri year passes while one owns the nisab. The amount obligatory to be given in Zakat on money, if the wealth reaches the nisab and a year has passed over it, is 2.5%, which is 25 dinars for every thousand dinars. So, if the amount is 5000 dinars, the obligatory amount is 125 dinars, provided this amount is profit from the initial capital.

However, if the remaining amount was acquired through charity (sadaqah), a gift (hiba), or inheritance, it is not obligatory to combine it with the initial capital, according to the more preponderant opinion. A separate hawl (year) can be designated for it.

If the amount, or part of it, is spent before the completion of the hawl, such that the remaining amount falls below the nisab, then there is no Zakat on it, provided that it was not spent with the intention of evading Zakat. If such an intention exists, then evasion is not permissible, and Zakat must be paid.
