Does insulting others invalidate the fast in Ramadan?

Fasting has been made obligatory to achieve piety, as Allah Almighty says: "so that you may become righteous." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, dispraised those whose fasting yielded nothing but hunger and thirst. He forbade the fasting person from obscenity and ignorance, and commanded anyone who was insulted by another to say: "Indeed, I am fasting." He also said: "Whoever does not abandon false speech and acting upon it, Allah has no need for him to abandon his food and drink." The fasting person must avoid these forbidden acts, but committing them does not invalidate the fast, as fasting is the abstention from things that break the fast, such as eating, drinking, and sexual intercourse, from dawn until sunset.
