What is the most prominent information about Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him)?
Allah sent Abraham and placed prophethood and the scripture in his offspring. He nurtured him and honored him with virtues and praiseworthy qualities. He was the father of the prophets, for none was sent after him except from his progeny. Abraham invited his people to monotheism and to abandon idol worship. He confronted his father, who worshipped idols, with advice, and then disavowed him. Abraham broke the idols, except for their largest, to prove to his people their helplessness. When they resorted to force and cast him into the fire, Allah rescued him and made it cool and peaceful. Abraham migrated to Ash-Sham and then to Egypt. He was blessed with Ishmael from Hagar, and he left her and her son in Mecca by Allah's command. Abraham saw in a dream that he was sacrificing his son Ishmael, and he proceeded to do so in obedience to his Lord's command. So, Allah ransomed him with a great sacrifice, and then gave him the good news of Isaac from Sarah. Abraham and Ishmael built the Kaaba in Mecca. Abraham prayed for Mecca and its people for sustenance and security, and that Allah would send among them a messenger from themselves. After Abraham, prophethood continued in the Children of Israel. Then Allah sent Muhammad, peace be upon him, from the lineage of Ishmael, and commanded him to follow the creed of Abraham. Indeed, Abraham enjoined his sons to adhere to Islam.
